Privacy Policy

LoafNote is a sourdough baking companion for iPhone. This policy describes what information the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your baking data stays on your phone.

Data stored on your device

Your starters, recipes, bakes, notes, ratings, and photos are stored locally on your device. LoafNote has no accounts and no cloud sync. We cannot see, access, or recover this data. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.

Usage analytics

LoafNote collects anonymous usage analytics through PostHog to understand which features are used and to improve the app. This includes events such as a bake being started or a recipe being imported, along with basic device information (device model, iOS version, app version) and a randomly generated device identifier. It does not include the contents of your recipes, notes, or photos, and it is not used to identify you personally. LoafNote does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Third parties

The third-party services LoafNote relies on are limited to PostHog (analytics) and RevenueCat (subscription validation). Each processes data only to provide its service to LoafNote and is required to protect that data to at least the same standard described in this policy. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. LoafNote uses RevenueCat to validate subscription status. This involves receipt and transaction identifiers from Apple. We never see your payment details, which are handled entirely by Apple.

Recipe import

When you import a recipe by URL, that URL is sent to our recipe service so the recipe can be extracted for your review. The URL is processed to perform the import and is not linked to your identity.

Notifications

Step timers use local notifications scheduled on your device. Nothing about your notifications leaves your phone.

What we do not do

• We do not sell your data.
• We do not show ads.
• We do not require an account.
• We do not collect your name, email, contacts, or location.

Data retention and deletion

Your baking data exists only on your device and is deleted when you delete the app. Anonymous analytics events are retained by us for up to 12 months and then deleted or aggregated. Subscription records are retained as required to operate your subscription and meet legal obligations.

To request deletion of analytics data associated with your device, or to revoke consent to analytics, email support@loafnote.com from the device in question and we will process the request within 30 days.

Children

LoafNote is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
